Jesse grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and gradually moved west to follow family and mountains. After completing his undergraduate studies at CU Boulder, he relocated to Juneau, Alaska, where he worked in an inpatient mental health unit and an urgent care, while embracing the adventures of the Alaskan wilderness.
He attended PA school at OHSU in Portland, OR, and began his career in family medicine in Homer, AK. Though he initially pursued rural family medicine, Jesse developed a deep appreciation for the acuity, flow, and culture of the Emergency Department. This led him to Eugene, OR, where he spent four years at a level 2 trauma center.
Despite the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Jesse moved to Denver to be closer to his wife’s family and his own extended family. There, he worked at a Level I Trauma/Chest Pain/Comprehensive Stroke/Burn Center before taking a position in the Emergency Department on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, one of the most impoverished and underserved communities in the Western Hemisphere.
Now, Jesse is excited to join a team in Kansas, bringing him closer to home with less time away from family and friends, while continuing to serve a rural community in a critical access setting. In his free time, he enjoys escaping into the wilderness and backpacking with his wife and their two dogs.
